Ex-Auburn back Roc Thomas transfers to Jacksonville State

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Former Auburn tailback Roc Thomas is transferring to Jacksonville State.

A onetime prized recruit, Thomas played for Gamecocks coach John Grass at nearby Oxford High School. Jacksonville State said Monday that Thomas has signed a financial aid agreement with the school

He's the fourth FBS transfer to enroll at Jacksonville State this summer, joining former South Carolina cornerback Al Harris, Jr., former LSU wide receiver Kevin Spears and former East Carolina offensive lineman Darius Anderson.

The Gamecocks graduated single-season rushing leader Troymaine Pope and backup Miles Jones from a team that played in the national championship game.

Thomas was named Alabama's Mr. Football as a senior. He ran for 475 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons at Auburn.

Former Kentucky player Josh Clemons is also competing for the job.
