Gurnee offering to split cost of new parkway trees with residents

The village of Gurnee is again offering a 50/50 program this spring to residents for the planting of about 60 new parkway trees, part of ongoing efforts to increase the number of trees in town.

The village contributes 50% of the cost of the trees, with residents providing the remaining $175. Participation in the program is voluntary and limited to owner-occupied homes. The village plants the trees in May and monitors their health during the initial growing season.

To learn more or submit an application, visit the village website, www.gurnee.il.us.

Applications are due by April 2.
