10 years prison for Aurora man who forced way into ex's house, stabbing her

An Aurora man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to forcing his way into his ex-girlfriend's house and stabbing her several times.

Tee Moo, 35, of the 600 block of Hammond Avenue, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of home invasion, a felony that carries a prison sentence of six to 30 years with no chance of probation, according to court records.

Judge D.J. Tegeler accepted the plea by Moo, who did not have any previous criminal arrest.

Moo had faced felony charges of two counts of home invasion, aggravated domestic battery, and violation of an order of protection, a misdemeanor, after his arrest Oct. 5, 2019, according to Kane County court records.

According to Aurora police, Moo was arrested after police responded to the 700 block of Wilder Street on the city's near west side about 10:21 a.m. after a call of a disturbance for a man armed with a knife. When police arrived, they found Moo in the front yard, learned he had stabbed a woman in the house and he was arrested, police said.

Investigators determined Moo went to the house to talk to his ex-girlfriend about two children they had together, but he was not allowed inside. The woman told Moo to leave, but he didn't, and then he "got angry, pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times," according to police.

The woman was taken to a hospital and treated for her wounds, police said.

Moo had a two-year order of protection obtained against him in Augusto 2019 after he and the woman broke up after 3½ years of dating.

The woman told authorities he had been abusive to one of their children, and he had taken her phone and pushed her in August 2019, records show.

Moo also had repeatedly accused the woman of cheating on him, pulled her hair and threatened her with a knife June 25, 2019, reports said. He also ripped her shirt and choked her June 1, 2019, until friends intervened, according to the protection order.

Under state law, Moo can have his prison term cut in half for good behavior and he gets credit for 119 days served while held at the Kane County jail on $300,000 bail while the case was pending.
