Buffalo Grove home uninhabitable after fire

No one was seriously injured by a fire that rendered a Buffalo Grove home uninhabitable Sunday night, officials said.

Buffalo Grove firefighters arrived at the home on the 600 block of Checker Drive at 8:30 p.m. All five occupants were out of the home before firefighters arrived, according to a release Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control within 10 minutes, officials said. Paramedics evaluated two people at the scene, but no one needed to be hospitalized, officials said.

Officials said the initial damage estimate is $100,000 and the fire's cause is being investigated.
