Lake County seeks input on its use of COVID relief funds

Two information sessions are planned to gather public input on how federal COVID relief fund can benefit communities in Lake County.

A virtual event will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, followed by an in-person session Aug. 10 at the Round Lake Beach Civic Center, 2007 Civic Center Way, Round Lake Beach.

County officials are seeking comment on how a portion of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds can be used in the recovery and response from the COVID-19 pandemic. The county has received $135 million in ARPA funding, with $71 million committed to food distribution, housing programs and other needs.

An initial session was set for 5-7 p.m. Monday at Green Belt Forest Preserve in North Chicago.
