East Dundee’s Immanuel Lutheran Church hosts annual Free Veterans Dinner Nov. 8

On Sunday, Nov. 8, Immanuel Lutheran Church, 310 E. Main St. in East Dundee, is hosting a free dinner for veterans and their families and friends. There will be two options for those who choose to attend in person; the first seating will be 2 to 4 p.m. while the second seating will be 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Alternatively, for those who choose to dine at home, to-go meals can be picked up at either 3 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. This option allows you to stay in your car and have your meal delivered to your car by a volunteer. Reservations can be made by contacting the church at 847-428-4477 or via eventbrite.com.

Food will be catered by the Karas Restaurant Group; you may recognize their popular restaurants such as The Village Squire, Rookies, and Alexanders. This will be an opportunity to share a tasty meal, enjoy the company of fellow veterans, and explore the wide variety of memorabilia shared by church members.

The menu will feature Italian beef sandwiches, chicken fingers, mostaccioli, salad, green bean casserole and a wide variety of homemade desserts.

Senior Pastor William Yonker summed up this event best, “The Veterans Dinner has become more and more popular every since it was first held in 2017 and really serves as a means for us to show our appreciation for veterans and all they have endured and sacrificed to ensure we can continue living in a free country.”
