Carpentersville man found guilty of sexually assaulting child
A Carpentersville man faces decades in prison after he was found guilty by a jury Monday of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, the Kane County state’s attorney’s office announced.
The allegations against Gavino Pineda-Sosa, 68, of the 1600 block of Sacramento Drive, date back to 2014 when, authorities alleged, he was supervising the victim at his house.
Authorities said he told the victim he would kill her parents if they ever found out about the assault. The victim reported the assault to police in 2025.
Sentencing is set for Dec. 15.
