Chicago Wolves beat Milwaukee for third consecutive victory

The Chicago Wolves took the ice for the first of 10 scheduled meetings against the Central Division-rival Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday night at Allstate Arena.

Aleksi Heimosalmi, Pierre-Olivier Joseph and Bryce Montgomery each had a goal and an assist and Viktor Neuchev also scored to propel the Wolves to a 4-2 victory. Ivan Ryabkin chipped in two assists as the Wolves won their third game in a row after starting the season with four consecutive losses.

The Wolves opened the scoring 6 minutes, 16 seconds into the first period on Heimosalmi’s second goal of the season. Bradly Nadeau spotted a streaking Heimosalmi in the slot and fed the defenseman with a pass that Heimosalmi turned into a tally by tucking the puck through the pads of Milwaukee netminder Isak Posch. Nadeau and Montgomery recorded assists on the marker that staked the Wolves to the lead.

Neuchev made it 2-0 later in the first when the forward corralled a pass from Ivan Ryabkin and ripped a shot from just inside the left circle that beat Posch to the glove side. Ryabkin and Noel Fransen had assists on Neuchev’s first goal of the season.
