Debris likely from aircraft lands near Barrington Hills preschool

Metal debris found near a Barrington Hills church’s preschool center Monday morning possibly fell from an airplane flying overhead, police said.

Staff from Noah’s Ark Christian Academy at United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, contacted Barrington Hills police at about 8:26 a.m. after discovering the debris on the preschool grounds.

The object was about 3 feet by 4 feet in size and was possibly from an aircraft, according to Barrington Hills police.

A spokesman from the Federal Aviation Administration said the agency has the item and is investigating.
