Experience Mary’s journey through music and meditation at Mundelein church Nov. 29

Santa Maria del Popolo Catholic Church in Mundelein invites the community to an evening of meditation, reflection and Marian music in “Seeing Advent Through Mary’s Eyes” on Sunday, Nov. 29.

It will feature soprano Mary Ann Beatty, readers Rick and Dianne Rose, flutist Terri Plohr, and pianist and organist Carole Prendergast. It will begin at 7 p.m. at the church, 40 N. Seymour Ave.

This one-hour meditation experience strives to provide modern-day believers with a novel perspective on their Advent prayer and preparation for Christmas. Through inspirational Marian music and scripted narrative, participants will be invited to broaden and reflect on their newly-awakened understanding of the realities of Mary’s own physical, emotional, and spiritual experiences during her pregnancy.

The goal is a better understanding of what it must have been like for Mary as she waited; each person present can explore and achieve a different way to grow personally and spiritually during the upcoming Advent season.
