Q&A

Why are you running for this office? Is there a particular issue that motivates you?

I am running because I am community activist that looking to continue build on the solid foundation of good government combined with sound fiscal responsibility.

If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. Tell us of any important initiatives you’ve led. If you are a challenger, what would you bring to the board and what would your priority be?

I am running because I am community activist that looking to continue build on the solid foundation of good government combined with sound fiscal responsibility.

What initiatives would you support to increase revenue and/or save money?

My priority is to make county government more efficient, strengthen our local economy, and identify new revenue opportunities without placing additional financial burdens on homeowners and working families.

I would support several initiatives by conducting regular reviews of county operations, contracts, purchasing practices, and administrative expenses to identify duplication, reduce unnecessary spending, and ensure taxpayers receive the greatest value for every dollar spent.

Pursue State and Federal Funding: Aggressively pursue competitive grants and other funding opportunities for infrastructure, public safety, mental health, housing, and senior services to reduce reliance on local property taxes.

Above all, I believe fiscal responsibility is not simply about cutting spending. It is about spending wisely, investing strategically, and measuring results. As a County Board member, I believe we have an obligation to protect taxpayers, maintain essential services, and keep DuPage County economically strong, competitive, and affordable for future generations.

Is there a specific service or amenity that is lacking in the county? If so, how do you propose to provide and fund it?

One area that needs to be prioritized is expanding affordable and accessible housing options, particularly for seniors and working families. Too many longtime residents are finding it increasingly difficult to remain in the communities they helped build. I believe residents should not be forced to leave DuPage County simply because they can no longer afford to live here. I would support partnerships with municipalities, nonprofit housing organizations, private developers, and community stakeholders to increase affordable housing opportunities.

I would also advocate for expanding transportation options that connect seniors and residents with disabilities to medical appointments, grocery stores, employment, and essential services.

Does there need to be more bipartisanship and cooperation on the county board? If yes, what would you do to help make that happen?

I believe the county board work in a bipartisan way. We understand public interest is not personal. We must always ensure the community and the citizens must come first regardless of party.

What is your stance on county board members' pay? Is it too high, too low, or just right? Would you propose any changes?

I have no real opinion of the pay however inflation is creeping toward 5%, and gas is currently at $5 per gallon. A stipend would help the board members because our districts are quite large and travel across the districts can be expensive.

What is the most important issue facing the county in your district and how should it be addressed?

Maintaining our triple A bond rating. This single has allowed us to operate the county government efficiently at a lower cost to taxpayers while delivering the services required to communities they have come to expect.
