Schaumburg High students go wild with ‘Madagascar’ musical Oct. 16-17

Schaumburg High School’s theater department is taking a walk on the wild side with “Madagascar: A Musical Adventure,” coming to the stage Oct. 16-17. This fun, fast-paced production is the perfect opportunity for families to experience live theater together.

Based on the beloved animated film, the musical follows Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo as they leave the familiar comforts of New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on the island of Madagascar. Their unexpected journey brings comic mishaps, colorful personalities, and challenges that put their friendship to the test.

With lively music, energetic movement, and plenty of humor, the production has something for both young audience members discovering theater and longtime fans of the story. Beneath the animal antics is a message about friendship, belonging, and learning to navigate unfamiliar situations together.

“Madagascar: A Musical Adventure” will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, and 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Schaumburg High School, 1100 W. Schaumburg Road.

Advance tickets are $11.90 or $15.01 at the door. Tickets are available at tinyurl.com/shsfall26.
