Woman found dead in garage following house fire in Kane County

The Kane County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman was found dead in a garage following a house fire in unincorporated Kane County Saturday.

The Elburn Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on the 43W500 block of Otter Lane in the Lily Lake area on Oct. 10. Fire personnel located the deceased woman inside the garage of the home.

The sheriff's office is investigating the circumstances of the fire with the Elburn Fire Department, the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Kane County Fire Investigation Task Force and the Kane County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.
