Local agencies to participate in National Coffee with a Cop Day

Police officers from the Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer departments will participate in a Coffee with the Cop event from 8 to 10 a.m. on Oct. 7 at Starbucks, 97 Roman Lane (across Quentin Road near the Mariano’s grocery store) in Hawthorn Woods.

The public can ask questions and learn more about law enforcement in a relaxed atmosphere. The event is part of National Coffee with a Cop Day, which encourages communication and positive interactions between law enforcement agencies and the public.

The day began as part of National Community Policing Week in 2016 and is held each year on the first Wednesday in October.
