Coat, accessories drive to benefit Lake County health department’s women’s residential services

The village of Hawthorn Woods is holding a winter coat drive through October to benefit the Lake County Health Department’s women’s residential services.

Clean, gently used or new winter coats, jackets, hats, scarves and gloves will be collected for women, infants, children, and teens. Donations will help provide warmth, comfort, and an important basic need for mothers and their children during the winter months. The goal is to collect 100 coats.

Red donation bins will be located at village hall and the police department, 2 Lagoon Drive, off Old McHenry Road east of Quentin Road and at participating locations throughout Hawthorn Woods. Contact Kim Steward at kstewart@vhw.org or (847) 847-3514.
