Join Glen Ellyn Rotary Club in the World’s Largest Polio Walk Oct. 24
The community is invited to join the Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn in the World’s Largest Polio Walk on Saturday, Oct. 24.
In 1938, the March of Dimes was formed to combat polio. The Rotary organization launched PolioPlus in 1985 and was a founding member of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988. But, polio has not yet been completely eradicated.
The Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn is joining this global effort on Oct. 24 to raise awareness, and to raise additional financial support to finally eradicate this dreaded disease.
The one-mile walk will take place at 10 a.m. starting at the public commuter parking lot next to the Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St., and ending at Lake Ellyn. Sign up begins at 9:30 a.m.
