Chicagoland high school football rankings: Get Mike McGraw’s Top 25 for Week 6

Lincoln-Way East, Loyola and Mount Carmel continue to lead the way as Huntley and Lincoln-Way Central crack the top 25.

1. Lincoln-Way East 5-0 (1): After falling behind 14-0 against Sandburg, quarterback Evan LeFevour produced four touchdowns during the Griffins’ comeback.

2. Loyola 5-0 (2): Quarterback Matthew Lee had an efficient game against Benet, completing 15 of 19 passes for 350 yards and three TDs.

3. Mount Carmel 4-1 (3): Nathan Samuels ran for two TDs and Marshaun Thornton hauled in a 97-yard TD catch as the Caravan cruised past St. Patrick.

4. Brother Rice 3-2 (5): Crusaders rang up nine TDs against Notre Dame. Kameron McGee had a pick-six, and Aydan Yarbrough scored on a kickoff return.

5. IC Catholic 5-0 (6): Quarterback Nate Lang tossed two of his three TD passes to heavily recruited Grant Bowen in the Knights’ win over Leo.

6. Hersey 5-0 (7): Running back Jackson Travis piled up 121 yards and three TDs on just 11 carries in the Huskies’ decisive win over Buffalo Grove.

7. Downers Grove North 5-0 (8): Grant Georgas delivered another long TD run as the Trojans took over first place in the West Suburban Silver by beating Proviso West.

8. Montini 4-1 (9): Israel Abrams and Damacio Ortegon made their case as the area’s best quarterback-receiver combo by connecting for three TDs against Carmel.

10. Prospect 5-0 (12): Matthew Donnelly ran for 110 yards and safety Caden Moran grabbed two more interceptions to carry the Knights past Elk Grove.

11. Oswego 4-1 (13): Graham Schwab scored three TDs and Quinten Jackson Jr. ran back a kickoff return as the Panthers rolled past Plainfield South.

14. St. Ignatius 4-1 (20): Nino Capuano scored three TDs, including a 73-yard run, as the Wolfpack delivered a convincing win at St. Rita.

18. Homewood-Flossmoor 3-2 (10): Tough early schedule caught up to the Vikings, who let a 17-point lead slip away in the fourth quarter at Lincoln-Way Central.

21. Jacobs 5-0 (23): Owen Crouch rolled up 135 receiving yards and three TDs as the Golden Eagles beat McHenry to keep a share of the Fox Valley lead.

22. Huntley 5-0 (NR): Malik Carter, Huntley’s 6-foot-6 quarterback, found Matthew Schroeder for a pair of TD passes in the Red Raiders’ clutch win at Cary-Grove.

25. Lincoln-Way Central 4-1 (NR): Desmond Gill caught two late TD passes from Gavin Ciesiun as the Knights rallied from a 27-10 deficit to beat Homewood-Flossmoor.
