It’s entirely appropriate for President Donald Trump’s massive triumphal arch to be defended by snipers, as he has proposed. Doing less would be irresponsible after the way vandals ruined the president's beautifully repaired Reflecting Pool.

If it’s not too late to make proposals for the statues the president now wants at the top of his triumphal arch, a 10-foot statue of Trump should be on a dominating 5-foot pedestal in the center, looking upon 6-foot statues of all his vanquished enemies on the step below. Their smaller size allows space for more statues of defeated nations’ leaders.
