CLC theater presents ‘The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs’

Get ready to enjoy a classic story with a twist with College of Lake County theater’s production of “The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs,” coming to the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts Mainstage Sept. 25-27 presented by CLC’s very own students and community members.

What does the Big Bad Wolf have to say for himself after the Three Little Pigs’ houses are left in shambles? Find out in this clever take on the story of the Three Little Pigs, where audiences learn that despite what the papers might say, there are two sides to every story.

When the Big Bad Wolf takes the stand in Piggsylvania’s Trial of the Century, he finally gets his chance to explain what really happened. But whether he’ll get a fair trial in a corrupt piggy court is anyone’s guess. Will the pigs’ splashy puppet show make a puppet out of justice, or is the wolf’s catchy song and dance about a sneeze gone wrong all razzle-dazzle? Enter the jury box and decide the fate of Big ‘n’ Bad in this musical adaptation of the hit children’s book.

“’The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs’ is a wonderfully funny, theatrical show for audiences of all ages,” Director Craig Rich said. “It brings to life the classic story of the Three Little Pigs but adds a clever twist that invites audiences to speculate on who’s telling the truth and who’s putting on a show.”

Public performances include 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25; 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27. School group matinees include 10 a.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 24-25.

School show matinees for this performance have a run time of approximately 60 minutes. School show matinees are especially suited for grades K-6.
