Man charged following stabbing Sunday in Algonquin

A 61-year-old Algonquin man is facing multiple charges in connection with a stabbing that happened Sunday in Algonquin.

Richard M. Dobson, of the 2600 block of Christie Drive, has been charged with felony aggravated battery — use of a deadly weapon and two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery, according to a news release from the Algonquin Police Department.

Authorities said Dobson was taken to the Kane County Correctional Facility to await a pretrial release hearing.

According to the news release from Algonquin police, officers were called to the residence on Christie Drive just after 6:15 p.m. on Sept. 20. When they arrived, they found a 57-year-old man outside the home with multiple lacerations, including to his chest and face.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
