News sometimes depressing, but needed
The week before Labor Day Weekend was very difficult for all of us in The Daily Herald reading area.
In Cook County, our long-awaited real estate tax bills arrived showing a 25% to 40% increase, the weather was devastating even in this era of “no global warming,” none of the usual weekly triumphant announcements from Washington of victory in Iran or peace in Ukraine, gas hit an all-time high for this weekend, the thought of even burgers for a cookout seemed like an unreachable dream and a drive past the shuddered Arlington Park Racetrack dampened even the promise of the kickoff of the NFL season.
Keep up the good work of keeping us current on the news, no matter how depressing it continues to be over and over again.
