A candidate’s deceitful disguise

With Halloween approaching, it looks to me like the current GOP candidate for the IL-26 state Senate, Darby Hills, is trying on a new costume: a “moderate.” But her voting record quickly strips away the mask.

When given the chance to protect women receiving legal abortion care in Illinois from criminalization, Hills voted “no.” When asked to allow our public college students basic access to their prescribed contraceptives at their campus pharmacies, she again voted “no.”

Now, as U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche publicly pledges to make the Dobbs decision “permanent in every single state,” the stakes couldn't be higher.

We need a senator in Springfield who will genuinely stand up for women’s reproductive rights — not a MAGA acolyte playing dress-up like Hills.
