Elmhurst to hold Day of Remembrance Sept. 11

The city of Elmhurst and the Elmhurst Fire Department invite the community to gather for a Day of Remembrance Ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.

The ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Fire Station #2, 601 S. York St.

Residents are invited to join city officials, first responders and community members as we honor the lives lost, remember the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and reflect on the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

All members of the public are welcome to attend this solemn observance as Elmhurst comes together to remember and pay tribute 25 years later.
