Changes coming on Lake Barrington village board

The Lake Barrington village board on Tuesday is expected to choose resident Jeffrey Williams as its newest member.

If things go according to plan, Williams will succeed Trustee Peter Schallmoser, who has resigned. Schallmoser is moving out of the village, officials said, and Tuesday’s board meeting will be his last.

Schallmoser was appointed to the board in 2022 and was elected in 2023 to a 4-year term.

The seat will be up for election in spring 2027.

Tuesday’s meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at village hall, 23860 N. Old Barrington Road.

If the board selects Williams, he’ll be sworn in when the panel meets Oct. 6.
