Firefighters extinguish blaze in attic of Palatine townhouse

Palatine firefighters are continuing to investigate the cause of a townhouse fire late Thursday afternoon that caused no injuries but left two additional units with smoke and water damage.

The Palatine Fire Department was called to the 2100 block of North Ginger Circle at 6:10 p.m. for a report of smoke coming from the roof.

Fire damage was confined to the attic above a second-floor unit before the blaze was declared under control at 6:25 p.m.

A monetary damage estimate wasn’t immediately available.
