Des Plaines firefighters to host Patriot Day ceremony

The Des Plaines Fire Department will host a Patriot Day ceremony on Sept. 11 to mark the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The activity is scheduled for 8 a.m. at city hall, 1420 Miner St. It’s open to the public.

Elected officials and police officers will join firefighters to remember the people killed and honor those affected by the attacks.
