Parton’s legacy lives on through Imagination Library initiative in Lake County

The Lake County Regional Office of Education Foundation has joined communities worldwide in mourning the loss of Dolly Parton, whose Imagination Library provides free high-quality books each month to the more than 7,000 Lake County children enrolled in the program.

As of mid-morning Tuesday, the foundation had received more than 30 unsolicited donations, according to Joel Finfer, executive director. Michael Karner, Lake County Regional Superintendent of Schools, said Parton gave millions of children the belief that their stories matter. The foundation works with school districts, businesses and community members to sustain and grow the program locally. Visit lcroefoundation.org.
