Bears vision mostly ‘delusional’
Joe Bauer is exactly right in his Aug. 20 letter about the Bears. No way should Illinois be giving a $9 billion dollar company a handout, especially when they haven't put forth any plans for infrastructure, traffic, or stadium other than an imaginary graphic picture of what it might look like.
They are delusional about the number of events they could have. Maybe one Super Bowl, a hopeful NCAA men's final, and a few middle-of-the-road concerts. The promoters will stay at Wrigley Field and Soldier Field for the top events. Soldier Field will do more when they don't have to worry about the Bears schedule.
As the Now Arena (formally the Sears Center) found out, Chicago and Rosemont get all the big shows.
I do have one suggestion. Now that Tim Carey from Hawthorne is finished putting the final nail in Hawthorne's coffin, he's available to help the fumbling Kevin Warren.
