Four library trustee seats open for 2027 election in St. Charles

The St. Charles Public Library District is looking for dedicated library advocates in the community to serve as nonpartisan library trustees.

These individuals represent the residents of the library district, ensuring quality library service, practicing strong fiscal stewardship, and determining the strategic direction of the organization.

The library has four open seats in the upcoming 2027 Consolidated Election to be held on April 6, 2027. The seats include three 6-year terms and one 2-year unexpired term to fill a recent vacancy.

Trustees serve on a volunteer basis and are asked to attend monthly Board meetings in addition to four committee meetings. Candidates must be residents of the library district and at least 18 years of age.

Petition packets will be available on Aug. 25 on the library’s website scpld.org or in person in the library’s administrative office at One S. Sixth Ave., St. Charles.

If you are interested in learning more, contact Kate Buckson, director, at kbuckson@scpld.org.

Candidate filing will take place at the library between Nov. 16-23, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
