No one hurt in Mundelein house fire

No one was hurt in a house fire Monday on the 400 block of Shadydell Avenue in Mundelein.

The blaze, which was in the basement of a ranch-style house, was reported about 12:25 p.m. It was extinguished by 12:50 p.m., according to a Mundelein Fire Department news release.

Crews reportedly rescued a cat.

A damage estimate wasn’t available Monday. The fire remains under investigation.
