It’s not about party

Full disclosure — I am a Republican, and I am very involved in local politics. Obviously, I advocate for my party and its candidates, but this election is less about party than it is about the candidates themselves. The most important election in your lifetime is always the next election. This one is no different.

Personally, I have never seen so many candidates who openly support absolutely crazy ideas. You need to find out if your candidate is one of the crazies. Ask them three simple questions. Go to a meet & greet, a candidate forum or a debate and make sure you ask these three questions.

1. Can a man get pregnant? I know, I know, it is an absurd question, but you cannot believe how many candidates will either answer in the affirmative or simply not answer at all. Is that who you want in office? Any office?

2. Should men be playing in women’s sports? The evidence on this is clear — this is a fairness and safety issue. 3. Should socialism replace capitalism as our economic system? It is alarming how many candidates who openly associate and align themselves with the Democratic Socialists of America. I urge you to look up the DSA platform, it is utterly terrifying.

Research your candidates up and down the ballot and find out how they answer these questions. They say, “all politics is local.” I couldn’t agree more. Do your research and vote for the candidates who best represent your values.
