Tonight’s White Sox-Mets game delayed until 7 p.m. because of ‘approaching wave of rain’
The start of Friday’s Chicago White Sox game against the New York Mets is being delayed until 7 p.m. “due to an approaching wave of rain,” the team announced.
The game was scheduled to begin at 6:40 p.m. at Rate Field.
Friday marks the beginning of a three-game series between the teams. It also marks the return of outfielder Luis Robert Jr., who played for the Sox from 2020-25 and earned All-Star honors in 2023. He was traded to the Mets in the offseason.
The Sox (66-61) entered the game in first place in the American League Central, 3½ games ahead of the second-place Minnesota Twins, who face the Padres in San Diego later Friday.
