U-46 appoints new director of professional learning

The Elgin Area School District U-46 Board of Education on Monday appointed Barbara Villont as the director of professional learning for the 2026-27 school year.

She replaces Heather Fellows, who was hired as principal at Otter Creek Elementary School in Elgin.

Villont served as the director of curriculum for Belvidere Community Unit School District 100 for the past three years and previously worked as an assistant principal and later a principal in Kenosha Unified School District in Wisconsin.
