DU-COMM marks 100th life saved since 2005
DU-COMM recently reached a significant milestone on the Wall of Life, its 100th documented save since 2005, with emergency dispatcher Eric Garcia coached a caller on CPR in early March.
While 100 may appear to be just a number, each save represents something far more meaningful: a life given another chance, a family kept whole, and a future that continued because dedicated professionals answered the call when it mattered most.
Behind every save is a collective effort. Telecommunicators, field responders, partner agencies, supervisors, trainers, and support personnel all play a role in creating successful outcomes. This milestone reflects the professionalism, teamwork, preparation, and commitment demonstrated every day throughout the emergency response system.
Many of the stories behind these saves will never be fully known. The birthdays celebrated, milestones reached, and moments shared with loved ones often occur long after the emergency has ended. Yet those moments are the true measure of the impact represented on the Wall of Life.
As DU-COMM marks this achievement, we extend our gratitude to every individual and agency that has contributed to these life-saving outcomes. The Wall of Life stands as a reminder that the work performed each day makes a lasting difference in the communities we serve.
As the Wall of Life reaches 100 saves, its true impact extends far beyond the wall. Attention now turns to the next opportunity to make a life-saving difference.
