Suburban senator seeks nominations of veterans, military members to honor

Illinois Sen. Adriane Johnson is asking constituents to nominate veterans and active-duty military members for this year’s 30 Wonders of the 30th District program.

Now in its fourth year, the program celebrates excellence, leadership and service across various sectors. The 2026 edition will spotlight veterans, miliary members and the businesses, organizations and individuals that support them.

Nominations are open until Aug. 30. The full list of categories and the official nomination form is available online at https://tinyurl.com/yc2cjd52. Winners will be announced later this summer and honored during a community recognition event.

Johnson, a Democrat from Buffalo Grove, represents the 30th Senate District, which encompasses much of central and northeastern Lake County, and a portion of northwest Cook County.
