Buzzworthy celebration of honey in Schaumburg
Bees were all the buzz Sunday as the Schaumburg Park District’s Heritage Farm hosted Honey Fest.
The daylong celebration of the sweet liquid and the bees that create it drew families for tastings, historic demonstrations and interactive displays about pollination.
Visitors also had a chance to make bee-inspired crafts, sample honey-themed treats and learn more about protecting pollinators in their neighborhoods.

Among those helping to pull off the event were volunteers like Lindsay Hutchins, who shared with fest-goers samplings of various types of honey.
“The buckwheat honey is the most interesting. It's like molasses,” she said.
