New Geneva Academy offers behind-the-scenes look at city operations
The city of Geneva is accepting applications for its inaugural Geneva Academy, a free hands-on program designed to give residents behind-the-scenes insight into their local government.
The interactive program runs Wednesdays from Sept. 16 to Oct. 28, with sessions running from 6 to 9 p.m. at various municipal facilities. Participants will tour city buildings, engage in mock activities, and meet directly with department leaders from city hall, finance, police, fire, and public works.
Geneva Academy offers community members a unique opportunity to learn how their city operates and to build connections with city staff and neighbors.
The academy is open to residents, though a limited number of spots may be available for local business owners, employees or high school students. The program will be limited to 15 participants, and applications can be submitted online through Sunday, Aug. 30.
