How to join Palatine’s 19th annual Scarecrows on Parade

The Palatine Beautification Commission is hosting the 19th annual Scarecrows on Parade contest as part of the Rotary Club of Palatine's Oktoberfest, set for Sept. 18-20 in the village’s downtown.

Any Palatine family, business, nonprofit organization, school or sports affiliate, homeowners association, faith or civic group are invited to participate. Prizes will be awarded in two categories: Youth (17 years old and younger) and Adult (18 years old and older).

Scarecrow frames are available for pickup at the village’s public works office, 148 W. Illinois Ave. Contact public works first at (847) 705-5200 to ensure frames are available.
