Explore modern art at St. Charles Public Library program

Join art historian Timothy Campbell for an engaging presentation of his “New Art History” lecture series at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, in the St. Charles Public Library’s Huntley Community Room, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

Campbell will explore some of the most compelling movements and figures in modern art, from New Expressionism and Surrealism to the innovative world of Organic Architecture.

Drawing connections across artistic styles and periods, Campbell will highlight the work of influential artists including Frida Kahlo, Bruce Goff, Anselm Kiefer, Philip Guston, and Hilma af Klint.

Campbell is an adjunct faculty member at the College of DuPage, where he teaches through a global, non-linear approach that examines diverse artistic traditions and movements across human history.
