Sound familiar?

I just watched a program about the Gilded Age, a term taken from a novel by Mark Twain. The period lasted from 1870 to 1900. What struck me was how much the era described in the program resembled Trump’s idea of what would “Make America Great Again.” Rapid industrialization — today, technology — wealth inequality, political corruption, and growing fears about immigration into America’s cities defined the age.

Notice any similarities?
