Hope Echoes on the River charity bike ride returns Aug. 30 to benefit CASA Kane County
Cyclists of all ages and skill levels are invited to ride for a purpose at the Hope Echoes on the River charity bike ride on Sunday, Aug. 30, beginning and ending at the historic Kane County Courthouse in downtown Geneva.
The community event will raise critical funds for CASA Kane County, helping ensure every child experiencing foster care has a dedicated advocate and a brighter future.
Participants can choose from three scenic routes along the Fox River, including 10-, 35-, and 65-mile rides designed to accommodate everyone from casual riders to experienced cyclists.
Ride start times begin at 7 a.m. for the 65-mile route, 9 a.m. for the 35-mile route, and 10:30 a.m. for the 10-mile route, with all riders returning to the courthouse by noon.
Registration is now open for the 65-mile ride ($125), 35-mile ride ($100), and the 10-mile ride ($60). Cost for children, age 12 or under, is $20.
Each participant will receive a commemorative event T-shirt and water bottle with registration.
“This ride is about more than miles. It’s about making sure every child in foster care has someone by their side,” said Jim Di Ciaula, executive director of CASA Kane County. “Each rider helps amplify a child’s voice and strengthen their path toward a safe, nurturing, and permanent home.”
Hosted by Galloway Consolidated Holdings and its philanthropic arm, Hope Echoes, the event is also proudly sponsored by IOC Construction and Sammy’s Bikes.
Organizers have set an ambitious fundraising goal of $250,000, with proceeds directly supporting CASA Kane County’s mission of advocating for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
After crossing the finish line, riders and supporters are encouraged to stay for what organizers describe as one of the best Sundays of the summer. The post-ride community celebration will feature:
• Ice-cold brews from 93 Octane Brewery;
• Local food trucks;
• Live DJ and music;
• Nothing Bundt Cakes;
• Local vendors and community partners;
• Family-friendly activities and fellowship.
Whether participants are chasing personal mileage goals, riding alongside friends and family, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend a Sunday, Hope Echoes on the River offers an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Kane County while making a difference for local children.
Rider safety remains a top priority. Helmets are required for all participants, and riders are encouraged to ensure their bicycles are in good working condition before the event. On-site technical support will be provided throughout the day by Sammy’s Bikes to assist with minor repairs and adjustments.
“Every registration helps CASA Kane County provide a voice for children experiencing foster care,” Di Ciaula said. “Your ride creates hope.”
The rides begins at the historic Kane County Courthouse, 100 S. Third St. in Geneva. The registration deadline is 11:59 p.m. Aug. 28.
