Bach on the Fox brings early era music to Glencoe and Batavia in relaxed concert setting

This August, early music nonprofit Bach on the Fox will present the second two-concert series “BATAVii” featuring its premier professional ensemble.

Comprising renowned vocalists, the performances will take place on Friday, Aug. 21, at St. Elisabeth’s Church in Glencoe, and Saturday, Aug. 22, at Water Street Studios in Batavia.

The program will lead audiences through an expertly curated experience of Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque works performed with historical precision.

Unlike traditional, restrictive classical music settings, this returning series invites the community into a relaxed, social atmosphere complete with food, drink, and lively company — closer to the authentic, communal environments where this music originally thrived.

The first concert will be 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at St. Elisabeth’s Church, 556 Vernon Ave. in Glencoe.

The next concert will be 7:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Water Street Studios, 160 S. Water St. in downtown Batavia.
