Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce names new leader

The Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce has found its successor for retiring CEO Carol Gieske.

The chamber’s board of directors announced Monday that Lindsay Tintera will become the organization's next president and chief executive officer.

“Lindsay brings the leadership, experience, and strategic vision necessary to guide the Chamber in its mission of engaging with and advocating for its members,” Steve Migala, chair of the chamber’s board of directors, said in a news release. “We are excited to welcome her and look forward to the fresh perspective and commitment she will bring to this mission.”

The chamber touted Tintera’s “strong marketing background.” She previously served as vice president of marketing for a local insurance brokerage. She also served as board chair of Shelter Youth & Family Services.

“I am honored to join the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce and become part of such a vibrant business community,” Tintera said in the release. “The Chamber has a long-standing reputation for supporting businesses of every size and creating meaningful connections throughout the region. I look forward to working alongside our members, Board of Directors, community partners, and staff to build on that strong foundation and continue creating opportunities for growth and success.”

Tintera succeeds Gieske, who is retiring after 19 years leading the chamber.

“The Board extends its sincere appreciation to Carol for her extraordinary leadership and lasting contributions to the Chamber and the Elgin community,” Migala said in the release. “Her dedication has positioned the organization for continued success, and we are grateful for the strong foundation she leaves for our next leader.”

Gieske will consult part-time to assist in the transition.
