Consider the possibilities for restoring good government

Consider the possibilities if the Democrats were able to regain control of the House and/or the Senate following the 2026 mid-term elections.

They could restore their role as the legislative branch of the government as defined in the Constitution – one of three equal branches of government.

If so, they could pass bipartisan legislation that forces negotiations between the United States and Iran in the hopes of reaching an agreement with Iran to end the war and open the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping – as it was prior to Feb. 26.

They could be the ones that set tariffs based on trade agreements and factual economic data, not the whims of one individual.

They could hold the current administration accountable for the deaths of American citizens at the hands of ICE agents.

They could restore “due process” as defined in the Constitution.

They could address the predicted shortfalls for Social Security and Medicare so that seniors receive the full benefits they and their employers have funded over their working careers.

They could review and restore the funding for SNAP benefits and Medicaid to ensure that those in need receive the benefits for which they are eligible.

They could hold the current administration accountable for the many things that are supposed to be presented to Congress for approval and/or funding as defined by the Constitution.

Perhaps a combination of their actions would lower the prices for gas, groceries, medical coverage and healthcare.

The possibilities are endless if the House and the Senate resolve to defend the Constitution and serve the needs of their constituents.
