Drive-in memories

As a baby boomer, I took interest in the Daily Herald’s story “Movie Magic,” about the McHenry outdoor theater.

When I was a preteen, my parents would take my sister and me to the drive-ins that were in the North and Northwest suburbs. I think it was 1952 I saw “The Greatest Show on Earth” at the drive-in at Waukegan and Golf Roads.

All those various drive-ins are long gone as property values begat commercial developments.
