Lisle man dies in police custody

A Lisle man has died while in the custody of the Oak Lawn Police Department.

The police department has asked the Illinois State Police Public Integrity Task Force to investigate the death of Johnall J. Walker.

Walker, 43, was arrested July 20 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. While en route to the police department, he ingested something and became unresponsive.

He died July 22 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
