Body found in river in Elgin

A man’s body was found in the Fox River in Elgin early Thursday.

Police say they were called around 2:47 a.m. to the area near the 200 block of South Grove Avenue for a report of a dead person in the river.

The Kane County coroner’s office is determining who the man was, according to a Facebook post by Elgin police.

The site is in downtown Elgin, not far from Festival Park and the Grand Victoria Casino.
