12 charged with soliciting sex acts in Aurora
Twelve men have been charged with solicitation of a sexual act in an Aurora police investigation into prostitution in the downtown.
Police announced the arrests Tuesday. The men are accused of soliciting an undercover officer earlier this month. Solicitation of a sexual act is a misdemeanor.
Special Operations Group Lt. Chris McWilliams said in a Facebook post that the Aurora Police Department will continue conducting targeted enforcement operations in response to community concerns and reported illegal activity.
“Operations like these are also an important part of our broader efforts to combat human trafficking,” McWilliams said. “By targeting the demand that drives exploitation, we can help disrupt the cycle that puts vulnerable people at risk of being victimized.”
Police said 10 vehicles were impounded as part of the enforcement action.
