Arlington Heights man charged in attack at Barrington train station
An Arlington Heights man was behind bars Monday on allegations he attacked a man at the Barrington Metra station Saturday, leaving the victim with head trauma, police said Monday.
Timothy A. Kirschner, 60, of the 1100 block of West Rand Road, faces one count of aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony, stemming from the accusations, according to Barrington police.
Police said officers were called to the station at 201 Spring St. at about 8 p.m. Saturday. They arrived to find a 42-year-old man who reported being punched in the face by Kirschner.
The man was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, where he was diagnosed with serious injuries, including head trauma, police said.
Kirschner was arrested and transported to the Cook County jail. His next court date is slated for Aug. 14, according to police.
