North Aurora seeks veterans photos for memorial

The village of North Aurora is in the process of updating the Veterans Memorial, located at Farview Drive and Willow Way.

In addition to upgrades to the memorial’s inscriptions and landscaping, one of the new features will be a photo wall and they need the community’s help to make it happen.

The photo wall will be multiple panels showcasing photos of loved ones from community members who served or are serving in the armed forces. The photos will be compiled into a collage that will be permanently displayed at the memorial.

You can submit up to 5 pictures for potential display. The submission must follow these guidelines. The photo must be saved in one of the following file formats: TIFF (preferred), jpeg or png files. Also, save the photo with the following file name convention: submitterlastname_firstname_photonumber (i.e. Doe_Jane_3.tiff)

Email photos to community@northaurora.org with the subject line of “Veterans Memorial Community Photo Wall.”

If the photo’s resolution is too low, it will not print properly and will not be included. Small edits may be made to the photo in an attempt to ready it for publication. Photos are likely to be recolored for continuity of the collage.

The deadline to submit is Thursday, Sept. 3. No late photos will be accepted.

Submitting a photo for the memorial photo wall grants the Village permission to publish it. North Aurora residents — past and present — as well as anyone who is a part of the local North Aurora community is welcome to submit.
